David Ospina will reportedly leave Al-Nassr this summer

Al-Nassr goalkeeper David Ospina will reportedly not continue with the Saudi Pro League club next season. X handle ByanNassr posted that the goalkeeper, whose contract will expire this summer, will not sign an extension at Al-Nassr.

Ospina joined Al-Nassr back in 2022 on a free transfer after running down his contract at Napoli. He has made only 27 appearances for the Saudi club since then, registering 14 clean sheets and conceding 18 goals.

Nawaf Al-Aqidi has been Al-Nassr's starting goalkeeper this season, with 16 appearances, followed by Ospina at 10. The Colombian goalkeeper has previously played for clubs like Arsenal and Nice in a career which began back in 2005. Making his international debut back in 2007, Ospina has gone on to make 128 appearances for Colombia.

He won two FA Cups with Arsenal, one Coppa Italia with Napoli, and the Saudi Pro League goalkeeper of the month with Al-Nassr in October 2022 and April 2024. As per latest reports, it seems Ospina will now call time on his journey with Al-Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr have failed to win the league in the last 2 seasons

With stars like Ronaldo, Ospina, and Talisca part of the team back in the 2022-23 season, Al-Nassr were expected to win the Saudi Pro League. The team, however, finished second, with 67 points from 30 games, five behind winners Al-Ittihad.

They then added playres like Otavio, Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, and Alex Telles among others in the summer of 2023. However, a league title has eluded them this season as well. They are once again set to finish second in the league, this time behind Al-Hilal.

Al-Nassr currently have 78 points after 32 games, with Al-Hilal on 90 after the same number of matches. Ronaldo for his part, has finished as the top scorer in the league, with 33 strikes to his name.
