According to a report by the Telegraph, Cristiano Ronaldo used to roll his eyes whenever Harry Maguire spoke in the Manchester United dressing room. The English defender was the club captain when the Portuguese forward returned for a second stint at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo rejoined the Red Devils from Juventus in the summer of 2021 for a reported €17 million. The star spent 18 months at the club, playing 74 games, scoring 41 goals and providing seven assists before falling out with then-manager Erik ten Hag.
According to the report, the Real Madrid legend did not think highly of the now 31-year-old defender during their time together at the club.
"No one is rolling their eyes in that dressing room any more when Maguire speaks, as Cristiano Ronaldo was known to do," the report stated.
Ronaldo and Harry Maguire played 2,769 minutes together for Manchester United in 36 games, averaging 1.64 points per game. The Englishman has remained at the club while Ronaldo plays for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.
“He would be very welcome back at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim" - When Red Devils legend made claim about Cristiano Ronaldo
Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham believes Cristiano Ronaldo would be welcome back at the club under Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese superstar is one of the most beloved figures in the club's history after two stints with the Red Devils.
Sheringham, a key part of the legendary 1999 treble-winning team, discussed the possibility of the football great returning to the club for a third stint. Speaking in December to Flash Score, the former striker said:
“Cristiano Ronaldo would be very welcome back at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, but he is onto bigger and better things. I think that Ronaldo will follow in the path of David Beckham in doing things away from coaching, higher profile things around the world. I'm sure he'd be very, very welcome in any capacity coming back to the club, but I doubt that he'll be a coach.”
The legendary forward plays for Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr and has continued to score regularly in the Middle East. He has bagged 75 goals and 18 assists in 84 games for the Riyadh-based outfit.
