Juventus are reportedly interested in snapping up Chelsea star Raheem Sterling to strengthen their offensive depth in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Sterling, 29, has failed to replicate his usual form since joining the Blues in a move worth up to £50 million from Manchester City in 2022. He has scored 19 goals and recorded 12 assists in 81 appearances across all competitions, including 62 starts, for his club so far.
Now, according to renowned reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus have identified Sterling as a top transfer target this summer. They are also keeping tabs on Jadon Sancho and Nicolas Gonzalez right now.
The Bianconeri, who appointed Thiago Motta as their head coach earlier this June, believe that Sterling would be made available for sale soon. However, they are set to face competition from a host of clubs.
Should the Chelsea star secure a permanent transfer to Juventus this summer, he would pop up as a regular starter in a wide role for them.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for Pedro Neto's services. They are reportedly set to dish out a potential fee of £54 million to rope in the 24-year-old attacker.
Fabrizio Romano offers transfer update on Chelsea's pursuit of young La Liga forward
In his Daily Briefing column for Caught Offside, journalist Fabrizio Romano insisted that the Blues are close to roping in Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion. The Italian wrote:
"Omorodion will become a new Chelsea player... the verbal agreement is done and we're just waiting for the formal steps. Atletico Madrid will receive £35 million, and although earlier in the summer they rejected a bid for Omorodion and wanted to keep the player, their stance changed when they saw the opportunity to sign a fantastic striker like Julian Alvarez [in a potential £82 million move]."
Ahead of Spain's Paris Olympics 2024 final triumph, Romano added:
"As for Omorodion's medical... for now, he is at the Olympics, so everything is being planned taking into consideration that he has an Olympic final to play. In terms of how this deal impacts other strikers, there is no news on Victor Osimhen yet, while on Marc Guiu, we can confirm that a loan move is a possibility being assessed internally. Enzo Maresca will also have a say on this."
Omorodion, 20, found the back of the opposition net eight times and registered just an assist while on loan at Deportivo Alaves last season.
The towering Spanish striker is yet to make his debut for Atletico.
