Serie A side Napoli are reportedly interested in launching a move to rope in Poland and Arsenal star Jakub Kiwior to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 campaign.
Kiwior, who played in three outings at the UEFA Euro 2024 before Poland crashed out, has established himself as a key squad member at the Gunners. The 24-year-old hybrid centre-back started 18 of his 30 appearances across all competitions for his team last term.
A left-footed centre-back adept at playing in a left-back role, Kiwior made the most of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jurrien Timber's injuries last campaign. He helped the Gunners register 13 clean sheets in all competitions, scoring once and registering three assists as well.
Now, acclaimed transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Kiwior has recently attracted attention from three Italian outfits. He wrote in his Daily Briefing column for Caught Offside:
"Jakub Kiwior has been linked with a possible exit from Arsenal again, and he's always being linked with Italian clubs after his impressive form when he was in Serie A with Spezia. However, it's not something concrete or close so far."
Identifying Napoli as one of the interested clubs, Romano concluded:
"AC Milan, Juventus, [and] Napoli all appreciate Kiwior. They know him well since he was at Spezia but that's it at the moment. Arsenal have still received no formal proposal for Kiwior and he remains a player trusted by Mikel Arteta."
Since arriving from Spezia in a potential £21 million switch in January 2023, Kiwior has made 38 overall appearances for Mikel Arteta's side.
Arsenal loanee makes transfer admission
During an interview with Portuguese outlet Noticias ao Minuto, Gunners star Nuno Tavares was asked about his plans after his disappointing loan stint at Nottingham Forest. He replied:
"My priority is to return to Arsenal. After that, only the future will tell. Everyone knows that I have another year left on my contract. I have people I trust looking after my future. There have been a few approaches, but I always leave it to whoever is in charge of my future."
Tavares, 24, made just 12 appearances across competitions for Forest past term. He featured in 696 minutes of action, starting seven games.
So far, the Portuguese left-back has found the back of the net once and recorded two assists in 28 outings across all competitions for Arsenal.
