Former Chelsea defender Marc Guehi has reportedly made up his mind about joining Liverpool in 2025. As reported by The Daily Mail, the in-demand Crystal Palace player is happy to wait for his dream switch to Anfield.

Guehi was one of the most coveted players during the last summer transfer window, with Newcastle United reportedly making three bids for his services. However, the centre-back did not push for a move as the Eagles rejected all three offers from the Magpies.

The ball-playing defender has also been linked with clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City and even his former club Chelsea at various times. However, it has been claimed that he has decided that he only wants to join Arne Slot's Liverpool whether in January or next summer.

Guehi came through Chelsea's esteemed youth ranks but made only two senior appearances for the Blues. Following his successful loan spell at Swansea City, he joined Crystal Palace in a reported £18 million deal in 2021.

Following his switch to Selhurst Park, the defender has grown from strength to strength and has become one of the best centre-backs outside top six clubs. He has also earned 22 caps for England and had a fantastic Euro 2024 campaign for the Three Lions.

Liverpool are understood to be long-term admirers of Guehi and he could become the long-term successor to Reds' skipper Virgil van Dijk. The Reds could do with a centre-back, anyway, having not replaced Joel Matip after his departure in the summer.

Jamie Carragher names his favorites to win the Premier League this season among Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal

Pundit Jamie Carragher has backed his former club Liverpool to secure the Premier League title this season. The pundit has insisted that Chelsea are not quite champion materials yet while Arsenal's injury problems could hurt them.

Carragher insisted that Arne Slot's side look like champions in the making if they can avoid injuries to their key players. He also backed Manchester City to secure the fourth spot despite their dismal run of form of late. Carragher wrote in his column for The Telegraph, as quoted by The Daily Mail:

"It is between Liverpool and Arsenal. Enzo Maresca has done an excellent job at Chelsea this season. I was not sure when the club opted not to keep Mauricio Pochettino last summer, but they appointed a coach with a specific profile and Maresca has brought the squad together."
"Having said that, I agree with him that Chelsea are not quite ready to become champions. They will need another goalkeeper and centre-half before they can go the distance," he added.

Carragher added:

"Arsenal's biggest problem right now is their injuries. They managed to avoid too much disruption in the last two years but their squad has been stretched this time. But I am speaking with my head and heart when saying Liverpool will pip them to first place."
"If they can avoid them, they will be difficult to catch. Chelsea will finish third and despite their issues I see Man City finishing in the last Champions League spot. Arne Slot's attacking options are the strongest in the Premier League. My only worry for Liverpool is if they pick up injuries to their big players."

Liverpool lead the Premier League table with a six-point margin over second-placed Arsenal despite playing a game less. Chelsea find themselves third with a seven-point deficit from the league leaders.
