According to Sky Sports, former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has cut ties with former agents amid rumors of a potential move to Barcelona.
The 31-year-old has been without a club since leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer. As per Sky Sports, Lingard just wants to play football and has subsequently cut ties with his agents.
According to Sport, Lingard has offered himself to Barcelona and believes that the defending La Liga champions will help him rejuvenate his career. However, as per the same report, manager Xavi is unlikely to take Lingard on board as the Blaugrana have plenty of attacking resources in the ranks.
Lingard has played for clubs like Forest, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United. However, his most notable spell came with Manchester United. The forward scored 35 goals and provided 21 assists in 232 appearances for the Red Devils' senior team.
Lingard also won four trophies with the Old Trafford club, including the Europa League and the FA Cup.
Lingard signed a one-year deal with Forest in 2022 despite being offered four-year-deals by both Newcastle United and Fulham. He scored twice and assisted two more in 20 appearances for Forest. All four of those goal contributions came in the Carabao Cup.
The forward's performances in the Premier League were underwhelming as Forest narrowly escaped relegation last term.
