Liverpool will reportedly have to cough up between €30 and €35 million if they are to sign Rayan Cherki from Lyon in the January transfer window. This is according to Foot Mercato, who claim that the Reds aren't alone in the hunt for the France Under-23 international's signature in the winter.
They are seemingly set to face competition from last season's Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen, who are also tracking the attacker. While Cherki primarily operates in an attacking midfield role, he is capable of playing on either flank as well.
The Frenchman's addition to the Reds' squad could be interesting, given they do not have an out-and-out number 10 in the squad. Box-to-box players like Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones, and Dominik Szoboszlai are often deployed in more attacking spaces in Arne Slot's midfield.
Cherki would certainly add some versatility in terms of options in the area if he were to move to Merseyside. Joining Liverpool would also be very tempting, given the Reds' performances so far this season.
They are currently on top of the Premier League standings, five points clear of second-placed Manchester City after 11 matches. Liverpool have also been imperious in the UEFA Champions League and are placed first in this table as well, two points ahead of second-placed Sporting.
So far this campaign, Cherki has appeared in 11 matches across competitions for his team, bagging two goals and three assists. Lyon could be under pressure to sell the talented Frenchman, given their financial troubles and the player's contract expiring in 2026.
Liverpool interested in signing Real Madrid attacking midfielder in 2025 summer - Reports
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz in the summer of 2025. According to Fichajes.net, the Reds are willing to make a bid worth £42 million to secure their target (via CaughtOffSide).
The Morocco international is a versatile talent who can play as a number 10 and off the right-flank. Diaz may be tempted to move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, given the limited game-time he will see with serious competition in his positions.
So far this campaign, the 25-year-old has started just two La Liga matches and is yet to appear in the first XI of a Champions League tie. At the moment, Diaz still has two-and-a-half years left on his contract at Real Madrid.
