Leny Yoro is reportedly set to miss three to six weeks of action due to a foot injury Manchester United's new defender sustained during pre-season. The French teenager was forced off with the injury in the first half of a 2-1 loss to Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in the United States last Sunday (July 28).

@INSIDERUTD1 on X reports that Yoro will likely miss up to six weeks with the injury. The medical team picked up a pre-existing foot issue during his medical, and the two injuries are likely linked.

Leny Yoro, 18, joined Manchester United from LOSC Lille earlier this month in a reported £58.9 million deal. The Red Devils won the race to sign the highly coveted youngster, who was also on Real Madrid and Liverpool's radars.

However, Erik ten Hag is set to enter the new season without Yoro available, which is a blow given the injury-ridden 2023-24 campaign. Fitness issues constantly plagued his defense.

Yoro was spotted on crutches with his left foot in a protective boot at United's Los Angeles training base. He'll miss the rest of pre-season, the Community Shield against Manchester City (August 10), and the start of the Premier League campaign.

PSG reportedly opted not to go for Manchester United's Leny Yoro because of injury concerns

PSG were another European giant in the race to sign Yoro earlier this summer. The Parisians rivaled Manchester United, Madrid, and Liverpool for the France U23 international's signature.

FootballTransfers reports that PSG club sources claim the highly rated French teenager's injury record saw them opt out of a deal. United went unchallenged when making their proposal to Lille for Yoro.

Madrid decided they wouldn't match the offer because Yoro had a year left on his contract. They wanted the player to be determined to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Leny Yoro's injury record while he was in Lille's first team doesn't look alarming. He only missed one game at the senior level due to Adductor pain, which lasted three days. There's no evidence of significant absences through injury during his youth career.

Manchester United could push ahead with their reported plans to sign another defender despite Yoro's capture. Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt is the most likely option, and he's already agreed on personal terms with the Red Devils. Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite is another center-back on the club's wishlist to help strengthen Ten Hag's defense.
