How much will Liverpool earn from Dominic Solanke transfer to Tottenham Hotspur? Reds' sell-on clause explained

Dominic Solanke represented Liverpool between 2017 and 2019.

Liverpool would allegedly receive a windfall should Bournemouth attacker Dominic Solanke seal a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Solanke, 26, relished an excellent season for his team in the 2023-24 season. The Chelsea youth product found the back of the opposition net 21 times and recorded four assists in 42 matches for his club.

Now, according to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have reached an agreement with Bournemouth for the striker's signature. The north London club are set to dish out £65 million to sign the star.

And, as per reporter Ryan Taylor, Liverpool will receive £9.2 million from Spurs due to the 20% sell-on clause they negotiated in a deal in 2019.

Solanke, who left Chelsea to join the Reds on a Bosman move in 2017, secured a permanent transfer to Bournemouth for £19 million in 2019.

During his one-and-a-half year stint at the Merseyside outfit, Solanke recorded one goal and as many assist in 27 games in all competitions.

Should the English star join Ange Postecoglou's outfit this summer, he could prove to be a fine signing for them. He would pop up as a vital starter for them and push Richarlison further down the pecking order.

Liverpool target lauded amid speculations

Speaking to Transfermarkt, La Liga expert Ivan Fuente heaped praise on Liverpool target and Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi. He said:

"He is probably the best central midfielder in La Liga. He is very precise with his passing and he's able to break lines with the ball while under pressure. He is heir to the dynasty of Spanish midfielders such as Xabi Alonso, [Sergio] Busquets, and Rodri... although he is less physical than all of them. He can win the ball back well but it is very difficult to steal it from him."

Sharing further thoughts on the Liverpool-linked midfielder, he added:

"He showed his level in the [UEFA Euro 2024] final [against England] and he'd be a good signing for any top team, especially for those who want to keep the ball. I think only a good offer from a top team could get him out of Anoeta [Stadium]. He is from San Sebastian and enjoys playing for his hometown club."

Zubimendi, who allegedly has a £51 million release clause, has scored eight goals and contributed seven assists in 188 matches for his club.

Should Zubimendi join Liverpool, he would pop up as a regular starter ahead of the likes of Wataru Endo, Curtis Jones, and Stefan Bajcetic.
