Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce planning to make move for Manchester United star: Reports

Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce are considering a move for Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof in the January transfer window, as per Turkish outlet Takvim. The Portuguese technician signed Lindelof from Benfica when he was the Red Devils' manager in July 2017 for a reported €35 million.

However, with the arrival of Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt, and Leny Yoro, the 30-year-old has fallen in the pecking order at Old Trafford. He's yet to start a game for Manchester United in the Premier League and has nine appearances across all competitions, accumulating 339 minutes of playing time.

Victor Lindelof's contract with the Red Devils will expire in the summer and he's unlikely to receive an extension. As a result, Fenerbahce are keen to sign the 30-year-old Swedish defender. The Turkish giants won't wait until the summer and they are expected to make a bid for the Swedish captain.

The Swedish defender has made 268 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing seven assists. Victor Lindelof has also won the FA Cup and the League Cup with the Red Devils.

In addition to the Swedish defender, the contracts of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans will expire after the end of the season.

Ruben Amorim's Manchester United have reportedly joined Hansi Flick's Barcelona in the race to sign Sporting CP attacker Viktor Gyokeres in the summer transfer window, as per Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Amorim, who arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting CP in 2024, rates Viktor Gyokeres highly and is keen on signing the Swedish forward. The Red Devils' frontline has failed to perform consistently, and the futures of Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford are uncertain.

As a result, Manchester United are keen to sign a consistent performer and Ruben Amorim is convinced that Gyokeres can fit the right profile. The Swedish attacker joined Sporting from Coventry in July 2023 and has made 77 appearances for the side, bagging 70 goals and 21 assists across all competitions.

United's interest in the 26-year-old will complicate Barcelona's situation. La Blaugrana sees Gyokeres as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski but are still dealing with financial struggles.
