Real Madrid's superstar Kylian Mbappe had a conversation with club president Florentino Perez before Los Blancos' game against Athletic Club on December 4, 2024, as per Spanish outlet MARCA. The Frenchman arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Kylian Mbappe's start with Los Merengues was underwhelming, hitting rock bottom when he missed penalties against Athletic Club and Liverpool. In all, Kylian Mbappe has so far registered 13 goals and three assists in 23 games across competitions for Real Madrid this season.

The difference is glaring when compared to his stellar stats from last season. The Frenchman scored 45 goals and created 11 more in 49 games for PSG. He was also the top scorer in the UEFA Champions League (eight), Ligue 1 (27), and the Coupe de France (eight).

A recent report from MARCA claimed that Mbappe held a discussion with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez just before the game against Athletic Club and promised to make tweaks to his game. The 26-year-old assured the president he would adapt better to his new club.

“No one will regret my signing,” he told Perez.as per Marca (via Madrid Universal).

Real Madrid lost the game against Athletic Club 2-1 with Mbappe missing a penalty in the 68th minute. However, the Frenchman has seemingly turned his fortune since and has racked up four goals and two assists in his last four club games across competitions.

In a recent discussion on the Be United program, Kylian Mbappe claimed that he would have spent his entire career with French giants Paris Saint-Germain if the call from Real Madrid hadn't come.

The French superstar played seven seasons for Les Parisiens before joining the Spanish giants. In 308 games played with the French outfit, he scored 256 goals and recorded 108 more assists. Furthermore, the Monaco academy graduate collected four French Cups, six Ligue 1 titles, two French League Cups, and three French Super Cups with the side.

During a discussion on the Be United program (reported by Ojogo), Mbappe said:

"I spent seven years, it was an honor. I don't think I say it enough or show it enough, but I've always been aware of where I am and the great club that is PSG. I have always said that it is the biggest club in France and one of the best in the world."

He continued waxing lyrical about Los Blancos, saying:

"I went to the biggest club in the world and I always said that this was the only club I would leave PSG for. If I hadn't been able to go to Real Madrid, I would have stayed at PSG all my life. I had the dream of playing there and I'm very happy. Of course, I always watch PSG games, I have friends in the team and they are playing well at the moment."

Kylian Mbappe and Madrid will face Valencia next in LaLiga at the Mestalla on January 3, 2025.
