Liverpool have identified Red Bull Salzburg right-back Amar Dedic as a possible replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to Caught Offside. The Englishman has entered the final year of his contract with the Reds and is yet to commit his future to the club.
Real Madrid are already eyeing him with interest as they lay down succession plans for Dani Carvajal. The Spanish right-back has been outstanding for Los Blancos for years now and is currently recovering from an ACL injury.
Carvajal is already on the wrong side of 30 and the LaLiga giants are eager to maintain the quality in the position once he eventually slows down. Trent Alexander-Arnold is on their agenda and they have apparently laid down the groundwork for a Bosman move next summer.
Liverpool were previously desperate to tie the 26-year-old down to a new deal, but have now accepted that he could leave. As such, the Merseyside club are already working on contigency plans and have identified Dedic as the ideal man for the job.
The Bosnian right-back joined Sturm Graz's youth setup in 2012 before moving to Red Bull Salzburg's youth academy in 2015. Making his debut for the club in 2020, the 22-year-old has already established himself at the Red Bull Arena and has turned heads at multiple clubs across the continent.
Dedic has appeared 17 times so far this season, setting up four goals and is under contract at the Austrian club until 2027. The player is apparently open to a move to the Premier League, while Salzburg's tendency to sell their best players could also work in Liverpool's favor.
Who are the other right-backs on Liverpool's radar?
Amar Dedic is not the only right-back on Liverpool's radar at the moment. The Merseyside club also have their eyes on Jeremie Frimpong, who has been earning rave reviews with his efforts for Bayer Leverkusen.
The 23-year-old played a key role in the club's Bundesliga triumph last season and could be on the move this summer. The Dutchman has been in fine form this campaign as well, registering one goal and six assists from 13 games across competitions.
Meanwhile, the Reds also have their eyes on Vanderson, who has caught the eye with Monaco. The Brazilian has one goal and three assist from 10 games across competitions this season and could be a fine fit at Anfield.
The 23-year-old's contract expires in 2028, so prising him away could be a costly affair. Liverpool also have their eyes on Lille's Tiago Santos, although the Portuguese is not a priority target at the moment.
