Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, who has also been subject of interest from Arsenal and Chelsea. As per TBR Football, the Sweden international has attracted a long list of suitors, including the aforementioned three clubs.
Premier League holders Manchester City and La Liga leaders Barcelona have also registered their interest in the 25-year-old. Newcastle United are reportedly willing to tie down their star forward to a new deal but are facing several hurdles.
The Magpies were reportedly in advanced talks with Isak a few months ago, but decided to stall the negotiations. With his current deal valid until 2028, an extension was not considered an immediate priority.
Both Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon have committed their futures at St. James' Park of late. Now, Eddie Howe's side face a tricky situation with the club struggling to comply with PSR rules.
On top of that, Isak's camp are well aware of the interest in the former Real Sociedad and Borussia Dortmund star. The forward has now scored in four successive games following a slow start to the season.
Isak joined Newcastle United in the summer of 2022 for a club-record £63 million fee from Real Sociedad. The Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea target has so far scored 40 goals and provided seven assists in 78 appearances for the Magpies.
