Liverpool have reportedly identified two potential replacements for Mohamed Salah, if the Egyptian is to depart at the end of the season. According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Reds are keeping their eye on Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth as we approach the January transfer window.

Salah's future at Merseyside remains uncertain, with his current deal running out in the summer of 2025. Anyone who is to replace him will have to perform exceedingly well, given the former Roma star's exploits this campaign as well.

In the 2024-25 season, Salah has played 17 matches across competitions, bagging 10 goals and assists each. Overall, he's made 366 appearances for the Reds, netting 221 times and bagging 99 assists, winning the Premier League and Champions League once each.

It isn't surprising to see Mbeumo being linked with a move to Anfield, given his performances for the Bees this campaign. Even after Ivan Toney's departure, the Cameroon international has managed to bear the responsibility and scored eight Premier League goals in 11 matches this season.

With the attacker contracted at Brentford till the summer of 2026, he is said to be available for a fee of around £40 million. Mbeumo also gives Arne Slot the option of deploying him down the middle if needed.

Meanwhile, the Cherries wide man Semenyo is said to be valued at £50 million because he has nearly five years left on his current contract. The 24-year-old has made 11 appearances in the English top flight this campaign, bagging four goals and an assist.

Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy addressed the contract situations of Liverpool trio Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. All three players are in the final eight months of their agreements.

Kennedy believes that the Reds need to make sure that they keep all three players at the club beyond 2025. Lavishing praise on Salah in the process, he told SportsBoom (via Echo):

"Just look at Mo Salah, he’s been prolific. He’s one of these players that will have lots of offers throughout his career because he’s such a talent."
“You’re going to pay money to see him play, but I just feel like he keeps making the right decisions. It’s all about the way you’re playing and getting results - and that’s something he’s very good at."

Salah has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in recent times, most notably the previous summer. Expect him to start for Liverpool against Southampton on Sunday (November 24).
