Liverpool interested in signing France international with £70 million release clause in the summer: Reports

Liverpool are interested in signing Marcus Thuram from Inter Milan next summer, as per MirrorFootball. The potential deal is reportedly dependent on the future of Mohamed Salah as his current contract at Anfield expires next summer.

As such, Thuram is seen as a potential long-term replacement for Salah.

Thuram joined Inter Milan as a free agent from Borussia Monchengladbach in July 2023. The Frenchman has grown to be a regular in attack for Simone Inzaghi's side.

The 27-year-old can be described as an energetic attacker whose finishing in front of goal is outstanding. Thuram has netted eight goals and registered five assists in 15 games across competitions this season. He is Inter Milan's top-scorer in the Serie A with seven goals so far.

Another unique characteristic that Liverpool could benefit from Thuram's possible signing is his versatility. The Frenchman features primarily as a center-forward. But he could also feature as a left-winger when necessary.

If Darwin Nunez decides to leave the club, Thuram could also be his potential replacement due to his versatility.

Thuram is currently contracted at Milan until June 2028. As such, the Reds might have to pay the reported £70 million release clause if they intend to sign him.

In a bid to bolster the defense, the Reds are currently considering signing Fulham's Joachim Andersen. This is as per CaughtOffside (via Transfer News Live).

Andersen has proven to be a formidable centre-back this season, having registered nine appearances for Fulham.

Liverpool's interest in signing Andersen could be linked to the uncertainty of Virgil van Dijk's future at the club. This is based on the idea that the Dutchman's contract expires next summer and he's yet to sign an extension.

Liverpool could be looking to sign Andersen as a potential replacement if Van Dijk decides to leave.

Andersen is contracted at Fulham until June 2029, and he's currently valued at €35 million by Transfermarkt.
