Liverpool plotting move for PL winger

Liverpool are reportedly keen on making a move for Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon, according to reports via HITC. It is believed that the Reds have already inquired about the English winger.

The 23-year-old forward is widely regarded as one of the Premier League's most dangerous wide players, and he has an impressive 2023-24 football campaign with club side Newcastle United. Gordon scored a remarkable total of 12 goals and 10 assists for the Magpies last season, with his form even earning him a spot in England's Euro 2024 squad.

Meanwhile, the PL giants have identified the winger as a possible transfer option this summer to strengthen new manager Arne Slot's attack.

Newcastle United, on the other hand, could be tempted to sell should they receive a decent offer for the player. He has two years left on his current deal after joining in January 2023 in a deal worth around £45 million from Everton.

It will be interesting to see if a move for Gordon by Liverpool will eventually materialize this summer ahead of the 2024-25 football campaign.

Liverpool target describes himself as a "nightmare to play against"

Liverpool are reportedly linked to Anthony Gordon, who is currently on international duty with England at the ongoing Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

The former Everton forward is believed to be under consideration to take part in the Three Lions' round of 16 clash against Slovakia on Sunday, June 30.

Speaking ahead of the game, Gordon revealed some of the qualities he has that could come in handy for head coach Gareth Southgate to give him a nod against Slovakia.

The Newcastle United man was quick to point out that he's a nightmare to opposing players, and he loves to make things happen when he's on the ball. In his words via HITC, he said:

"My main strengths are, I am very direct, quick – I am nightmare for anyone I play against."

He continued:

“I am positive, every time I get the ball I try to make something happen. When I am needed, I am more than ready."

It will be interesting to see if Southgate will eventually give him a nod against Slovakia on Sunday, June 30, 2024. The Newcastle United winger has so far played one minute of football action at the Euro 2024, after making a substitute appearance against Slovenia.
