French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, reportedly wants a £240,000 per week contract amid interest from Arsenal. Following a five-year stint, the Frenchman has left Juventus as a free agent this summer.
Several clubs have reportedly entered the fray to sign the 29-year-old, who appears to be a hot commodity for clubs hoping to bolster their midfield. Among the clubs interested in bagging his signature are Manchester United. The Red Devils reportedly tried signing him in 2020 and then again in 2022, but a move for the Frenchman didn't materialize.
According to a report by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the 29-year-old is dreaming of switching to the Premier League. Liverpool, too, have emerged as a destination for the midfielder.
Having bid farewell to Thiago at the end of last season, the Reds could benefit from a player who can play as a conservative No. 6 and an orthodox No. 8. However, it remains to be seen if Liverpool will be willing to shell out a £240,000 per week contract for Rabiot.
According to a report by Football Transfers, Arsenal is also tailing the developments around his future and is interested him in bringing him on board. While the Gunners broke their transfer record after signing Declan Rice from West Ham United for a reported fee of €116.6 million in 2023, Thomas Partey's best days are arguably behind him.
This leaves a massive void in Arsenal's midfield which a player like Rabiot could fill. It is reported that Mikel Arteta's side is also close to signing Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino. It remains to be seen if the north London club push for Rabiot if their deal with Merino materialises.
Other clubs interested in signing Rabiot reportedly include Real Madrid and cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid. The latter have also been linked with Chelsea's Conor Gallagher. As for the Los Blancos, Toni Kroos' departure and Luka Modric's age could be factors why the club could be interested in signing Rabiot.
Arsenal are also interested in signing Manchester City's Julian Alvarez - Reports
Julian Alvarez is reportedly keen on leaving Manchester City in search of greener pastures. Ever since his arrival at the club in 2022 from River Plate, the Argentinian has been playing second fiddle to Erling Haaland. The 24-year-old scored 19 goals in 54 appearances across all coemptions last season.
The Gunners came pretty close to winning their first Premier League crown in over two decades. They lost the title on the final matchday of the season and are keen on bolstering their squad to continue the run for the league title.
Arsenal signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea in 2023 as well. Despite a few hiccups in his first few months at the club, the German found his rhythm in the latter half of the season. He scored 14 goals across 51 matches across all competitions last season.
The Gunners are monitoring his situation, as per TBRFootball.
