Liverpool have commenced talks to sign Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, as they look to beat Arsenal and Manchester United to his signature as per Anfield Watch (via Caught Offside). The Hungarian defender has been a fine performer for the Cherries since joining them in the summer of 2023 for an undisclosed fee.

Hungary international Kerkez has been key to how Andoni Iraola wants his Bournemouth side to play, with hunger in defensive and attacking situations as a full-back. The 21-year-old has featured in all 11 of the Cherries' Premier League games this season, including wins against Arsenal and Manchester City.

Liverpool are in the market for a new left-back to provide cover for and ultimately replace the aging duo of Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson at the club.

Caught Offside reports that the Reds have initiated contacts with their fellow Premier League side as they look to sign the youngster, who was once on the books of AC Milan. The Reds have also received permission from Bournemouth to commence initial talks with the youngster.

Kerkez has recorded two assists this season, both of which came in his side's impressive 2-1 win over champions Manchester City in October. The young left-back is also wanted by Arsenal and Manchester United, both of whom are looking to sign a new left-back.

Liverpool director Richard Hughes was the man responsible for bringing the youngster to Bournemouth during his time at the club and could be set to do the same with the Reds. Kerkez is not the only name on the club's wishlist, with several other players on their radar for a transfer.

Milos Kerkez has long been a player of interest to the Reds, as they held talks with him in 2023 while he was on the books of AZ Alkmaar. A fee of £40 million is expected to be enough to prise him away from the grasp of Bournemouth in 2025.

Liverpool considering move for Ligue 1 whiz amid club's financial woes - Reports

Liverpool are considering a move to sign Olympique Lyonnais winger Rayan Cherki in the January transfer window, as per L'Equipe. The France U-21 international is regarded as one of the finest players in the club and is expected to make a move soon.

Lyon have been handed a provisional relegation to Ligue 2 and a transfer ban, leaving them with a need to raise money before the season ends. The French outfit will look to move on some of their talents to raise money in order to avoid a demotion to the second tier.

Cherki has two goals and three assists for Lyon this season after he turned down a £13 million move to Fulham in the summer. The versatile 21-year-old can be signed for much less by the Reds and will represent a major bargain for Arne Slot's side, if he joins them.
