Liverpool are planning to move for Milos Kerkez at the end of this season, according to Team Talk. The Reds are looking for a new left-back to eventually replace Andy Robertson at Anfield and have identified the Hungarian as an option.
Kerkez has been on an upward rise since joining Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2023. Last season, the 20-year-old registered 33 appearances for the Cherries, registering one assist.
He has started all of the club's nine games this season in the Premier League and has turned heads at Liverpool. The Reds are laying down succession plans for Andy Robertson, who will turn 31 next March.
The Scottish left-back has been outstanding for the Merseyside club ever since he arrived from Hull City in 2017. Robertson has appeared 310 times for the English giants to date, scoring 11 goals and setting up 65 more.
However, the player has shown signs of regression of late and Liverpool are eager to take action. Arne Slot has apparently identified Kerkez as a player who can sort the position for years and has directed the club to keep him under close watch.
Bournemouth apparently believe that the player will leave in 2025 and are braced for offers for their prized asset in January as well. Interestingly, the Merseyside club could face competition from Manchester United for the Hungarian. The Red Devils have struggled with injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia in recent times and are eager to address the left-back position in 2025.
Can Liverpool convince Trent Alexander-Arnold to stay?
Trent Alexander-Arnold has entered the final year of his contract with Liverpool and is yet to sign a new deal. Recent reports have suggested that Real Madrid are hot on his heels at the moment.
The LaLiga giants are looking for a new right-back to eventually replace Dani Carvajal at the Santiago Bernabeu. They have apparently set their sights on the English right-back, who is among the finest in the world in his position.
A move in January has also been mooted, owing to Carvajal's unfortunate ACL injury which has ruled him out for the rest of the campaign. The Reds remain desperate to keep hold of their prized asset but are running out of time.
The longer this saga drags on, the more it appears that Alexander-Arnold could leave the Merseyside club in 2025. The 26-year-old rose through the ranks at Liverpool and has appeared 322 times for the English giants.
