Liverpool have reportedly rejected Crystal Palace's £15 million bid for Scottish midfielder Ben Doak. As per The Times' Paul Joyce, the Reds value Ben Doak around £30 million and are not hurrying to sell the Scotsman. Doak plays for EFL Championship side Middlesbrough on a loan deal from the Merseyside club.

Ben Doak joined Liverpool from Celtic's youth side in July 2022. He debuted for the senior team in November 2022 during a Carabao Cup game against Derby County. A month later, he played his first Premier League match during Liverpool's 3-1 win over Aston Villa. He has made 10 appearances for the Reds' senior team.

In August 2024, Doak joined Middlesbrough on a loan deal and since then, he has made 20 appearances, scoring two and assisting five goals in the Championship. As per the aforementioned report, apart from the Eagles, other Premier League and European clubs are interested in signing the Scotsman.

The transfers of Crysencio Summerville to West Ham United for a reported transfer fee of £25 million and Wilson Odobert to Tottenham Hotspur for £30 million are seen as a benchmark for Doak's deal. The ongoing winter transfer window will end on February 3.

Arne Slot has confirmed that Joe Gomez is expected to remain out for a few weeks as he will miss Liverpool's Premier League clash against Manchester United. After recording a 3-0 victory over United in the first half of the season at Old Trafford, the Reds will host Ruben Amorim's side at Anfield on Sunday, January 5.

During the pre-match press conference on Friday, Arne Slot revealed that the entire team will be available for the game against United except Joe Gomez. Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate have returned to team training but Gomez will remain on the sidelines for a few more weeks. He said (via Liverpool Echo):

"(Joe) Gomez is not in a good place, out for a few weeks, Conor (Bradley), and (Ibrahima) Konate will train with us for the first times, curious to see where they are up to but the next step is always how to handle team sessions."

Arne Slot added:

"Rest of the squad? Still have to come in but we trained yesterday and I assume everyone is fit. Not heard anything (to the contrary). Everyone apart from Gomez is set to be a part of the game."

Joe Gomez sustained a hamstring injury during the Reds' 5-0 victory over West Ham United on Sunday, December 29. The Englishman has made 16 appearances for the Merseyside club this season across all competitions.
