Liverpool transfer target Anis Hadj Moussa was reportedly spotted at Stamford Bridge during Chelsea's Boxing Day clash at home to Fulham. The player is currently attracting interest from both the Reds and the Blues.
Reports via La Gazette du Fennec suggest that Liverpool have already earmarked Moussa as a potential replacement for Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah.
Salah's long-term future at Anfield is currently uncertain, as the 32-year-old forward's contract with Liverpool is expected to expire next summer. While there have not been any breakthroughs in contract talks, it seems as though the Reds themselves are making plans already for any eventuality.
As such, 22-year-old Feyenoord's winger Moussa, who has scored six goals and registered one assist across all competitions this season, is said to be a likely candidate to replace Salah.
However, the Reds would have to battle it out with PL rivals Chelsea for the signature of the Algerian winger, who was reportedly in attendance during the Blues' 2-1 home defeat to Fulham.
A Feyenoord supporter, De Overlap, reacted after the game, suggesting that Moussa could be on his way to Chelsea after being spotted at Stamford Bridge. The fan tweeted:
"Anis Hadj Moussa is well on his way to Chelsea FC. He has even been spotted in the stands at Stamford Bridge."
Journalist suggests that Arne Slot admires Liverpool and Chelsea transfer target
Dutch reporter Martijn Krabbendam revealed that Reds' manager, Slot, highly regards Feyenoord's winger Moussa, who is reportedly being linked with a move to Anfield.
Slot played a role in securing the player's signature at Feyenoord from Belgian outfit Patro Eisden Maasmechelen for a transfer fee in the region of £1.5 million. However, the Dutch tactician didn't get the opportunity to work with the Algerian winger, as he took up the managerial role at Anfield.
Meanwhile, the pair could reunite at Liverpool, as the Reds are believed to hold strong interest in the 22-year-old winger.
Meanwhile, speaking to Voetbal International via tbrfootball, Krabbendam recounts that Slot admired Moussa while he was at Feyenoord. In his words, he said:
"Slot noticed that a certain Anis Hadj Moussa not only passes easily, but also always poses a threat and thus creates space for fellow players. This Algerian attacker forces opponents to make choices."
He added:
"In Liverpool, the old Feyenoord coach watches the performance of his former club and enjoys the player he brought in but never worked with. Yet, even Slot could not have imagined that Hadj Moussa’s development would go so quickly.”
