Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Igor Paixao for a potential move to Anfield. Their scouts have been impressed with the Brazilian winger, who also played under Arne Slot.

The Reds had a relatively quiet summer transfer window in 2024, signing just two players. They brought in Federico Chiesa from Juventus and also signed Giorgio Mamardashvili, who has stayed at Valencia on loan this season. They have, however, been linked with numerous players this January.

As per Caught Offside (via Rousing the Kop), Liverpool have been scouting Igor Paixao for a potential transfer. The Brazilian has made 106 appearances for Feyenoord, scoring 26 goals and providing 23 assists. He made 81 of those appearances under the Reds' current manager Arne Slot, registering 21 goals and 10 assists.

The 24-year-old is valued at around £29 million, which is quite affordable considering his contract expires in 2029. However, Liverpool already have a host of left-wingers in Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and even Darwin Nunez. Hence, it would be interesting to see if they make a move for Paixao in January.

Moreover, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing the Feyenoord attacker.

Arne Slot asserts that he's happy with Liverpool's squad during the ongoing transfer window

While Liverpool were one of the least active sides in the summer transfer window, they have still been flying this season. They have lost just one match across competitions this season and sit atop the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League tables. They have also reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup where they will face Tottenham Hotspur.

Ahead of the first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday, Arne Slot was asked if the Merseysiders will look to sign players this January. He answered (via Liverpoolfc.com):

"It would be a bit weird if I said during the summer break that we are very happy with the team then I would tell you something completely different now. But you always look at the market, this club has always looked at the market. ... if there is a chance in the market this club always tries to bring that chance in. But the team is in a good place.
"Unfortunately, Joe Gomez is injured [and] that means we go from four centre-backs back to three, but he will be back in a few weeks so [I am] very happy with the team and I think they deserved that trust from the club and from me if you look at the performances they have brought in over the last half-season."

After their EFL Cup semi-final first-leg match against Tottenham on Wednesday, the Reds will host Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
