Manchester City demand a package deal for Julian Alvarez.

Manchester City are reportedly demanding €70 million plus €20 million in bonuses to sell Julian Alvarez this summer. The Argentine attacker could depart the Etihad as he looks to become a starting No.9.

The Athletic's Sam Lee reports that City have set their price for Alvarez, 24, and want a €90 million package. The versatile forward is said to have wanted out of the club for several months.

Julian Alvarez has been linked with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, but Manchester City's valuation is too expensive for them. He's been with the Citizens since January 2022, when he arrived from the Argentine outfit River Plate for €21.4 million.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner was a prominent member of Pep Guardiola's side last season. He posted 19 goals and 13 assists in 54 games across competitions, helping City win the Premier League.

However, Alvarez played second fiddle to Erling Haaland and had to accept playing in positions other than his favored striker's role. He appeared in six roles last season, including as a second striker and an attacking midfielder.

Spanish outlet El Chiringuito reports that Alvarez rejected a new contract proposal months ago. His current deal would have increased by a year and expired in 2028, but he's asked the club to set a 'logical' price tag for his departure.

Manchester City are reportedly confused by Julian Alvarez's conduct

Julian Alvarez was Manchester City's most-used player last season, although most of his outings were from the bench. He was handed vastly more first-team opportunities than in his debut season, with Guardiola placing his faith in the Argentine.

FootballTransfers reports that City are confused by Alvarez's antics as he pushes for a move. They feel they have done all they can to make him feel valued and important at the Etihad.

Guardiola is also unhappy that Alvarez is set to represent Argentina at the Olympic Games in Paris. The reigning Premier League champions allowed him to participate as they tried to calm the situation.

The Spanish coach spoke glowingly of the young attacker last season. He highlighted his importance (via TNT Sports):

"Julian is amazing so he's an extraordinary player and many things help us."

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly held early talks with Alvarez's representatives regarding a move. He could be an option to replace Kylian Mbappe, who left for Real Madrid earlier this summer.
