Manchester City set to battle Arsenal for Barcelona star

Manchester City and Arsenal are reportedly ready to battle each other for the signature of Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo. As reported by Spanish outlet Fichajes.net, both Premier League giants are closely monitoring the Spaniard's situation at Camp Nou.

Olmo only joined Barcelona in the summer in a reported €55 million deal from RB Leipzig. However, the Euro 2024 winner faces an uncertain future at the Catalan club with the Blaugrana potentially parting ways with him in January.

Barca only managed to acquire a temporary registration for Olmo in the summer which expires at the end of this year. They will have to register the 26-year-old permanently in January or lose him on a free.

The Catalan giants' ongoing financial struggles mean they face a difficult task to register Olmo.

Manchester City and Arsenal are both reportedly plotting a move for the former RB Leipzig star if he departs Barca on a free. However, the Catalan giants reportedly remain confident of holding onto their priced asset.

Olmo has done pretty well following his return to his boyhood club Barcelona in the summer. He has scored six goals and provided one assist in 15 appearances across competitions for Hansi Flick's side.

Arsenal could do with a solid addition like Olmo to bolster their title hopes, especially after Bukayo Saka's hamstring injury. Manchester City, on the other hand, are pretty much out of the title race following a disastrous run of form this season.

Manchester City and Arsenal keeping tabs on Belgian defender: Reports

Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a move for Club Brugge defender Maxim De Cuyper. As reported by TBR Football, both clubs are looking to bolster their defence with the 23-year-old's signature.

De Cuyper has established himself as one of the brightest young full-backs in Europe at Club Brugge. He can play either as a left-back or a right-back and can also play in advanced wide roles.

The Belgian has made 24 appearances across competitions for Club Brugge this season scoring once and providing four assists. He has also made a name for himself with his ability from dead-ball situations. Capped six times for Belgium, De Cuyper is no stranger to interest from abroad having formerly attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.
