Ruben Amorim's Manchester United have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson in the January transfer window, as per GiveMeSport. The Red Devils are seeking a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, who have suffered from injury issues for a long time.

Antonee Robinson is Everton's academy product but left the Merseyside club in 2019 to join Wigan Athletic. After only a year at Wigan, the American defender joined Fulham in August 2020. Robinson has played 170 matches for the Cottagers, bagging three goals and 19 assists across all competitions.

The 27-year-old has been in stellar form for Marco Silva's side this season. In 19 Premier League appearances, the American defender has provided seven assists, primarily as a left-wing back. Antonee Robinson took the captain's armband for the Cottagers while Tom Cairney was suspended earlier this season.

During the period, Fulham defeated Brighton & Hove Albion (3-1) and played draws against Arsenal (1-1) and Liverpool (2-2). As a result, the Red Devils see the American defender as an apt successor to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. His ongoing contract with Fulham will expire in the summer of 2028 and the Cottagers are expected to demand more than £40 million for Antonee Robinson.

The Red Devils are also expected to face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea. Manchester United are 14th in the Premier League table with 22 points in 19 matches. Next up, they will face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, January 5.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona's Andreas Christensen in the January transfer window, as per Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes. The Danish defender joined Barcelona from Chelsea on a free transfer in July 2022 and his ongoing deal will expire in the summer of 2026.

He gave promising performances for La Blaugrana after he joined the club in 2022. However, due to injuries and fitness concerns, Christensen has fallen in the pecking order at Barcelona. Playing 75 matches for the club, he has scored three and assisted four goals.

He has reportedly gained Ruben Amorim's attention though. According to the aforementioned report, Christensen can leave La Blaugrana on a loan deal in January, which could eventually be turned into a €18 million permanent transfer.

Ruben Amorim sees the former Chelsea star as an upgrade for Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Jonny Evans. The Danish defender has already played in the Premier League and his experience can also come in handy for Manchester United.
