Manchester United duo Victor Lindelof and Toby Collyer have been linked with a move to Leicester City in the January transfer window. This is according to a report from The Sun, which claims that the pair are seen as surplus to requirements at Old Trafford (via Tribal Football).
While the Foxes have shown an interest in these players, the duo are said to be unsure if they want to complete the move. For Lindelof, it may seem reasonable to join Leicester, given his game time under new coach Ruben Amorim has been limited.
Moreover, the Portuguese coach often employs three central defenders in his back five, and yet the Sweden international hasn't played much. Lindelof hasn't started a single match in the Premier League and has only registered 59 minutes of game time this campaign.
With the central defender's contract also expiring in the summer, Manchester United may be able to secure a small transfer fee for him in January. On the other hand, Collyer is clearly behind a number of other stars at Old Trafford in the deep-lying midfield role.
Collyer has had to compete with the likes of Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, and Casemiro for minutes in this position. Overall, the 21-year-old has managed just one appearance in the Premier League this year, which lasted 45 minutes.
Joining the Foxes could, therefore, help the former England under-17 international. With Collyer contracted with Manchester United till the summer of 2027, the club may hold greater negotiating power when it comes to his transfer fee.
Manchester United make contact to sign 25-year-old Inter Milan star- Reports
Manchester United have reportedly made contact to sign Inter Milan's central midfielder Davide Frattesi in the ongoing transfer window. This is as per a report from TeamTalk, which suggests that the Red Devils are looking for various options in the market to strengthen their midfield (via United District).
It is claimed that Ruben Amorim's side have financial restraints at the moment, but the player's £33 million valuation falls within that bracket. However, a move for the Italy international will not be straightforward, given he's drawn interest from Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and AS Roma.
Inter themselves will not be under any pressure to sell the player, given he's contracted at the San Siro till the summer of 2028. To date, Frattesi has made 63 appearances across competitions for the Serie A giants, bagging 11 goals and eight assists.
