Manchester United will have to ward off competition from Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign Milos Kerkez, according to TEAMtalk. The Red Devils are looking to bolster their left-back position this year amid Luke Shaw's prolonged injury woes.
Ruben Amorim also has Tyrell Malacia on his roster, but the Dutchman recently returned from a long layoff due to injury. As a result, Manchester United are looking for an upgrade and apparently have their sights on Kerkez.
The Hungarian left-back has been in excellent form this season for Bournemouth, registering one goal and three assists from 20 games across competitions. His contract with the Cherries runs until 2028 and he is expected to cost around £40m.
The 21-year-old is an attacking full-back who is also defensively solid, so he could suit the Red Devils quite well. However, Manchester United will face competition from Liverpool in the race for his signature, while Chelsea have previously been named as a suitor as well.
The Reds are laying down succession plans for Andrew Robertson, who will turn 31 this March. The Scot has shown signs of regression this season and the Merseyside club are keen to rope in an upgrade.
Kerkez could be tempted to join Liverpool, with the club on the rise under Arne Slot. Meanwhile, it is unclear whether Chelsea would still be interested in the Hungarian, given that they are well-stocked in the position.
Are Chelsea eyeing a Manchester United star who impressed against Liverpool?
Chelsea apparently have their eyes on Kobbie Mainoo, who was excellent for Manchester United against Liverpool. The English midfielder rose through the ranks at Old Trafford before gaining prominence under Erik ten Hag.
This season, Mainoo has already registered 17 appearances across competitions for the Red Devils. However, like the rest of the team, the 19-year-old has also struggled so far.
He has been in and out of Ruben Amorim's starting XI since the Portuguese's arrival but was selected from the start for last weekend's game at Anfield. Kobbie justified Amorim's decision, helping Manchester United earn a point against Liverpool.
However, recent reports have suggested that talks with the Red Devils over a new deal have hit a standstill. Chelsea are apparently eyeing the situation with interest and are leading the race for his signature. The London giants have targeted younger talents in the market of late and Kobbie could be a fine addition to their squad.
