Manchester United attacker Antony has been linked with a surprise move away from Old Trafford to Newcastle United. Caught Offside claims that the Magpies are looking to move for the Brazilian winger early in 2025 if they are unable to bring in Anthony Elanga.
According to the report, the Red Devils are willing to let go of the former Ajax star and the player himself is said to be keen on the move. It is believed that a transfer fee of around £40 million will have to be tabled in order for a deal to go through.
Antony hasn't enjoyed the best of times in Manchester since signing for his current employers in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of €95 million. He's managed to score just 11 times and assist on five occasions from 83 appearances across competitions for Manchester United.
Moreover, the 27-year-old is mostly going to be undertaking a squad role this season, with the likes of Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho ahead of him. He's made just one appearance in the new campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion, which lasted a minute.
Therefore, a transfer to St. James' Park would be ideal for Antony, with Miguel Almiron the only major left-footed attacking threat at the club. As per the aforementioned report, Newcastle United are willing to pay the asking price and there's a good chance for a deal to materialize.
Kingsley Coman move could be on in January amid Manchester United interest - Reports
Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman was linked with a host of clubs this summer, including Manchester United and Liverpool, among others. Eventually, a deal for the France international did not materialize, as he remained with the Bavarian giants for the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
However, Caught OffSide claims that the 28-year-old continues to be linked with Manchester United and that a move to Old Trafford could be on in January. Coman largely operates on the left flank and would serve as competition for Marcus Rashford, who often starts there.
With three years left on the player's contract, it still remains to be seen if Bayern Munich can get their desired transfer fee.
To date, Coman has made 297 appearances across competitions at the Allianz Arena, bagging 64 goals and 66 assists. He's won the Bundesliga eight times and the UEFA Champions League once, among other honors at the club.
