Italian journalist Enrico Camelio has reported that Manchester United and Juventus are discussing the idea of a potential swap deal in the ongoing January transfer window. He claimed the Red Devils were ready to offer Joshua Zirkzee in exchange for Dusan Vlahovic.

Speaking on Radio Radio Los Sport, Camelio said that Manchester United were keen on using Zirkzee to get another striker. He reports that the two sides are open to a swap deal, saying:

“In Italy, he had done well in Parma and then very well in Bologna, precisely with Motta. We are working on it, but there is an idea of an exchange between Vlahovic and Zirkzee, let’s see how the situation evolves. The idea is plausible; the Dutchman would find the coach who consecrated him again.”

Zirkzee has not done well at Manchester United since joining from Bologna at the start of the season. He scored on his debut for the Red Devils in the Premier League but has since managed just two goals and an assist in the next 18 appearances.

Arenal are also said to be interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic and have been keeping tabs on the striker since last summer.

Manchester United star would have lost trust in Ruben Amorim, claims pundit

Footballer-turned-pundit Nigel Reo-Coker believes that Joshua Zirkzee would have lost his trust in head coach Ruben Amorim at Manchester United. He also urged the Portuguese to now fix the relationship after taking him off in the first half of their 2-0 loss to Newcastle United.

He said on BBC Radio 5:

"It’s a tough experience for a player and a tough pill that Ruben Amorim will have to swallow. As a player, when you go through a moment like that, you need to think about the human element. He will look at Ruben Amorim and never trust him again. He will be able to look at him and say 'good morning boss' but he will not have any respect for him deep down.
"It’s an admission from Amorim that he got the team wrong. He’s going to have to try to fix the relationship because he will probably have to go back to him at some point and get him back on side and wanting to play and compete.."

Manchester United were 2-0 down to Newcastle United when Ruben Amorim decided to take off Zirkzee and bring in Kobbie Mainoo. The Red Devils ended up losing the match, moving to 14th in the Premier League table.
