Manchester United have enquired about Bologna forward Dan Ndoye's availability, according to Italian journalist Luca Bendoni.

The Red Devils, who finished eighth in the 2023-24 Premier League table, are set to rejuvenate their squad under their new co-owners INEOS this summer. With the likes of Antony and Jadon Sancho underperforming for them, they are keen to sign a new attacker soon.

As a result, Ndoye has popped up as a transfer target for Manchester United. The 23-year-old guided Bologna to a fifth-placed finish in the Serie A table in the 2023-24 campaign, contributing two goals and as many assists in 34 outings across all competitions.

Ndoye, who previously featured for INEOS-owned OGC Nice and Lausanne-Sport, is currently representing Switzerland at the UEFA Euro 2024. He has scored once at the tournament so far, poking home a cross in a 1-1 Group A draw against hosts Germany on June 23.

Frank Lampard says England have missed Manchester United defender at Euro 2024

Earlier this Tuesday (June 25), England secured top berth of Group C of the UEFA Euro 2024 after registering a 0-0 draw against Slovenia. They won just one of their three group-stage matches at the tournament, attracting a lot of flak from fans and pundits alike of late.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Chelsea great Frank Lampard shared his thoughts on The Three Lions' below-par performances at the ongoing Euro 2024. He opined (h/t Metro):

"Not having a natural left-sided left-back has been a big deal for [Gareth Southgate] because that felt really good to me watching the last tournaments when Luke Shaw was there. Luke Shaw was much more offensive on that side of the pitch and we could have a balance where Kyle Walker could stay more and create this three at the back."

Lampard, who helped the Blues lift three league titles as a player, said:

"And then you would have the two and get the offensive players between the lines with the threat on the left-hand side. We've lacked that and that's a problem that he's going to want to solve. I think you can probably get away with right-footed centre-backs on both sides if the left-sider is comfortable enough that they can make the right pass."

Luke Shaw, 28, is yet to feature in a single Euro 2024 contest with Kieran Trippier deputizing at left-back for England. He made just 15 appearances for Manchester United due to a couple of injuries last season.

Due to the Manchester United star's fitness issues, Trippier is likely to continue at left-back for Gareth Southgate's team at the tournament.
