Manchester United and Liverpool keen to launch move to sign Premier League star: Reports

Both Arne Slot
Both Arne Slot's outfit and Ruben Amorim's side are keen to sign a new left-back.

Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly interested in adding Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez to their respective squads in the future.

Kerkez, 21, has emerged as one of the best up-and-coming left-footed full-backs in the Premier League since departing AZ Alkmaar for around £15 million in 2023. He has turned heads with his displays for his club this season, providing two assists in 11 league appearances.

Now, according to Spanish website Relevo, Manchester United and Liverpool have both identified Kerkez as a potential signing. However, neither club have held talks with Bournemouth about a possible move yet.

Kerkez, who is a former AC Milan youth star, could decide to join Liverpool with the Reds leading the Premier League table. He would act as a rotational option for the ageing Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

On the other hand, the 21-cap Hungary international would potentially emerge as a vital starter for Manchester United should he join them. He would be preferred over an injury-prone Luke Shaw in a 3-4-3 system.

So far, Kerkez has registered three assists in 44 appearances across competitions for Bournemouth. He will next be in action for his club in their league clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday (November 23).

Ex-Liverpool player claims Manchester United transfer target should not depart current team

Speaking to betting website Betfred, former Liverpool and Chelsea right-back Glen Johnson urged Christopher Nkunku to stay at the Blues in the near future. He said (h/t Metro):

"His start to life at the club was quite tough when he suffered his injury and we don't know if he's fully over that yet. In spells, we've seen some really good stuff from him and as Chelsea are going in the right direction, he would be mad to jump ship now."

Johnson, who is a two-time Premier League winner, concluded:

"They're in a much better position now and if he can get fit and get himself in the starting eleven, then Chelsea have a good player on their hands. He just doesn't look fully fit yet."

Nkunku, who has lately drawn attention from Ruben Amorim's Manchester United, has reportedly grown frustrated with the lack of game time at Chelsea this season. He has contributed 10 goals and an assist in just 688 minutes of action, across 17 overall appearances.

Should the 27-year-old Frenchman decide to join the Red Devils, he could prove to be a good signing for them. He would emerge as a starter in one of the number 10 positions in Amorim's preferred 3-4-3 system.
