Manchester United are allegedly aiming to offload Casemiro and are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Nuno Mendes, who is a former teammate of Lionel Messi, this month.
Casemiro, 32, has reportedly been linked with a transfer away from his team since the end of past campaign. He is in the last 18 months of his deal and has also dropped down in the Red Devils' pecking order since Ruben Amorim's arrival.
Hence, according to The Telegraph, Manchester United are hoping to sell Casemiro to lighten their wage bill. They are keen to make the most of Al-Nassr's interest in the Brazilian, who has made 22 overall appearances for his club this term.
On the other hand, the Old Trafford side are pushing for a deal to rope in Mendes this month. Amorim is believed to be interested in reuniting with the former Sporting CP left-back, who is in the final 18 months of his current Parisians contract.
PSG, meanwhile, have been trying to convince Mendes to renew his contract of late. They are hoping the Portuguese star will stay and not leave for a club, like Manchester United, who are not competing in the UEFA Champions League now.
Former Manchester United star urges Cristiano Ronaldo to reunite with arch-rival Lionel Messi
Speaking to The Sports Daily, former Manchester United star Wes Brown backed Al-Nassr ace Cristiano Ronaldo to ply his trade next in the Major League Soccer (MLS). He said (h/t DAZN):
"Cristiano Ronaldo has to go to America, especially given that Lionel Messi is there as well. I've seen Ronaldo play a few times [in Saudi Arabia]. It's been a good standard. He is scoring goals and looking so fit for his age, still sprinting at 40. He wants to play for as long as he can."
Sharing more thoughts on Ronaldo's potential future, Brown continued:
"He's a player who can hand pick where he wants to play next. He won't hang his boots up anytime soon and will keep breaking records. He has been to a few places now. I'd love to see him add America to the list. He has been scoring more goals than Messi of late and it would be great to see them go head-to-head again."
Since his Bosman move to Inter Miami in the summer of 2023, Messi has contributed 34 goals and 18 assists in 39 total appearances for his club.
Ronaldo, on the other hand, has scored 66 goals and provided 19 assists in 70 overall outings for Al-Nassr since the start of the 2023-24 season.
