Manchester United are reportedly interested in bringing former Manchester City defender Danilo back to the Premier League. As reported by Tribal Football, Ruben Amorim has recommended the experienced Brazilian as a target for next summer.
Ruben Amorim will officially take charge at Old Trafford on Monday, November 11, following his exceptional stint at Sporting CP. He was named Erik ten Hag's successor on November 1 after the Dutchman's sacking.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who worked as Ten Hag's assistant since the start of the season, has been currently serving as interim head coach.
Ruben Amorim's style of play and preferred system is a lot different to that of Erik ten Hag. The highly regarded Portuguese manager has been exclusively recognized with a 3-4-3 system. And, he is more than likely to implement the same at Manchester United.
However, the Red Devils clearly don't have the kind of squad required to play with three-at-the-back. Danilo could be an excellent addition to the Red Devils thanks to his immense experience and versatility.
The former Manchester City defender, who is currently the captain of Juventus, is predominantly a right-back. However, in his illustrious career, he has also played centre-back and left-back and even in midfield.
Danilo's current deal with the Old Lady expires next summer which means he could be a solid addition to Manchester United for absolutely nothing. The Brazil international previously played for Manchester City between 2017 and 2019 and won five trophies for the Cityzens.
Red-hot striker Viktor Gyokeres praises new Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim after victory against Manchester City
In-form Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has heaped praise on newly-appointed Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim. The Sweden international singled out the Portuguese mastermind for praise after Sporting CP's whooping 4-1 win against Manchester City. Following the game, Gyokeres said, as quoted by The Mirror:
"We've done amazing things together. We will miss him and the other guys in the staff who will leave. We have to look forward and attack the next challenge ahead of us."
Amorim will have a massive task on his hands when he officially takes charge at Manchester United on November 11. The 39-year-old is regarded as one of the finest young managers in Europe following his hugely successful stint at Sporting CP. He won five trophies during his time at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, including two Primeira Liga titles.
