According to El Nacional, Manchester United have made a €40 million offer for Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who is also being pursued by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Lunin has become a key player for Los Merengues this season in Thibaut Courtois' injury absence. The Ukrainian has usurped Kepa Arrizabalaga as the man between the sticks and has shone. He was the hero of the penalty shootout against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals last week, making two saves.
Lunin has made 28 appearances across competitions this term, keeping 12 clean sheets. However, the player reportedly doesn't want to become a backup option again when Courtois returns to full fitness.
Manchester United have shown interest in the player, as per the aforementioned report. The Red Devils, though, already have Andre Onana in their ranks. Hence, becoming the first choice at Old Trafford could be difficult for 25-year-old Lunin.
Lunin joined Real Madrid in 2018 and has mostly been a backup option. He is contracted with the Madrid giants until the end of the 2024-25 season. Real Madrid reportedly have three big offers for Lunin, with Bayern Munich and PSG also said to be interested in securing the player's services.
Fabrizio Romano shuts down links between Real Betis and former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea
David de Gea has been out of a club since parting ways with Manchester United in 2023. The goalkeeper's contract came to an end and he has now been linked with making a move to Real Betis as a free agent.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, however, has shut down the reports, claiming that he doesn't have any update on the reports. He wrote in his Daily Briefing for Caught Offside:
"A former Man United player, David de Gea, has been linked by some Spanish outlets with a possible move to Real Betis, but I honestly have zero updates about this- it's still all quiet."
Romano added:
"De Gea remains open to considering options ahead of a summer move, but at the moment I am not aware of anything agreed with Real Betis."
De Gea made 545 appearances for Manchester United, keeping 190 clean sheets. He won the Premier League Golden Glove award in his last season at the club, registering 17 clean sheets in the league.
