Manchester United have allegedly approached LOSC Lille to sign Real Madrid and Liverpool target Leny Yoro ahead of the next season.
Over the last couple of months, Yoro has reportedly attracted attention from giants like Real Madrid and Liverpool due to his excellent displays in the 2023-24 season. He helped Lille finish fourth in the Ligue 1 standings, playing in 32 of his team's 34 league appearances.
A right-footed towering centre-back, Yoro helped his boyhood club record 20 clean sheets in 44 matches across all competitions last season. The 18-year-old scored three goals for his team in the process.
Now, according to Sky Sports, Manchester United have entered the fray to rope in Yoro in the summer transfer window. They have made initial contact with Lille after their offer of £35 million plus add-ons for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite was turned down.
Should Yoro opt to secure a permanent move to Manchester United, he would pop up as a first-team star for them. He would fill the void left by Raphael Varane's exit and partner Lisandro Martinez at their backline.
However, Erik ten Hag's team could lose in the race to snap up Yoro as both Real Madrid and Liverpool will compete in the UEFA Champions League next term. The player could also be interested in playing alongside France captain Kylian Mbappe at Los Merengues.
On the other hand, the Red Devils are also keeping tabs on Lille striker Jonathan David this summer. They are likely to face competition from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the star's signature.
Manchester United and Liverpool in race to sign defender playing at UEFA Euro 2024
According to Daily Mail, Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has attracted interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur of late. The Eagles, on the other hand, are planning to offer the ex-Chelsea man a new contract which will have a fixed exit clause.
Guehi, whose current deal is set to expire in June 2026, has reportedly clarified to the Eagles he would take contract-related decisions after the UEFA Euro 2024. He is believed to be valued at £65 million now.
The 23-year-old, who has started both of England's Group C games at Euro 2024, has started 107 of his 111 appearances for Crystal Palace so far. He has found the back of the net five times along the way.
