Manchester United have submitted an offer to sign Miguel Gutierrez in January, according to journalist S Montero (via TEAMTALK). The Spanish left-back has been outstanding for Girona of late and has turned heads at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are in a precarious situation with their left-back position. Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw spent much of the past year-and-a-half on the treatment table.
While the Dutchman is back to full fitness, the Englishman recently suffered a fresh injury setback and is sidelined once again. New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim wants to address the position immediately and the club have been eyeing multiple candidates for the job.
While Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, Bayern Munich speedster Alphonso Davies, and Wolverhampton Wanderer's Rayan Ait-Nouri were under consideration, the Red Devils have zeroed in on Gutierrez. The 23-year-old has registered two goals and three assists from 22 games across competitions for Girona this season.
The player is under contract with the Catalonian club until 2027, but reportedly has a €35m release clause in his deal. However, Real Madrid own 50% of his rights. Manchester United have apparently sent a very lucrative proposal to Girona for the player.
Journalist Rudy Galetti has added that the Premier League giants are engaged in talks to sign the Spaniard for a lower fee. The club have apparently assured Gutierrez that he will be a regular starter if he makes the move.
The player is on modest wages with Girona, so personal terms shouldn't be a problem either. The Spanish club have apparently given the green light to a move, which should materialize if financial agreements are reached.
Are Manchester United eyeing a Southampton talent?
Manchester United have apparently set their sights on Tyler Dibling as a target for 2025. Recent reports have suggested that the Red Devils are planning to offer £21m for the 18-year-old, who has taken the Premier League by storm.
Dibling has registered one goal and two assists from 16 games across competitions for Southampton this season. His contract at St. Mary's Stadium runs until 2027.
Manchester United are looking for an upgrade on Antony, who has been a disappointment since arriving from Ajax in 2022. The Red Devils are likely to cash in on the Brazilian next year and Dibling has been identified as his replacement. Southampton are currently at the bottom of the league table and if they are relegated, Dibling could be on the move.
