Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen could reportedly leave Erik ten Hag's outfit to join Belgian Pro League team Anderlecht soon.
Eriksen, 32, dropped down the Red Devils' pecking order last campaign as he started just 14 of his 28 appearances in all competitions. The ex-Tottenham Hotspur star registered one goal and three assists last term.
So far this campaign, the Denmark international is yet to make a single appearance. He has been on the bench three times in all competitions.
Now, according to Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg, Eriksen has drawn interest from Anderlecht of late. He could leave Manchester United before Belgium's transfer deadline day on Friday (September 6).
Overall, Eriksen has found the back of the net three times and provided 13 assists in 72 outings across all competitions for Manchester United.
Alan Shearer offers prediction for upcoming Manchester United-Liverpool league match
In his column for Metro, Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer claimed that United will play out a draw against Liverpool this Sunday. He wrote:
"I haven't seen a lot that's changed from last year at Manchester United, and I know they've still got injuries, they're also bringing in a new midfielder in Manuel Ugarte but not much has changed in terms of their performances [in 1-0 win] against Fulham and especially, [in 2-1 loss] against Brighton [& Hove Albion]."
Sharing his two cents on the Arne Slot-coached team, Shearer added:
"Liverpool's [Premier League] opener against Ipswich [Town] was a tough one – they were under immense pressure in the first half but the way they came out in the second half and battered them in the end [to win 2-0] was impressive. The [2-0] result against Brentford showed how strong and powerful they are too."
Shearer, who lifted the Premier League title in 1995, concluded:
"When you look at United last weekend against Brighton and the lapses in concentration defensively, if they don't improve that... then Liverpool's front line will have huge success. There'll be goals in the game and I think it could be a score-draw at Old Trafford on Sunday as I've mentioned United can save their best for the biggest games, and this is one of those."
Manchester United are 13th in the 2024-25 Premier League table, while the Anfield club are currently in fourth-place in the domestic standings.
The Red Devils have registered just one win and five losses in their last 10 Premier League clashes against Liverpool, scoring just seven times.
