Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, and Casemiro in the ongoing winter transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. This comes after the club might have to offload some players to sign new ones.

Lindelof joined United from Benfica for a reported €35 million fee in July 2017. However, he has been moved down the pecking order in the centre-back position, having registered only nine appearances this season. Lindelof's contract at Old Trafford expires in the summer. United are reportedly not looking to extend his contract and could sell him if a good offer comes in.

Meanwhile, Eriksen joined the Red Devils from Brentford as a free agent in July 2022, and his contract at the club also expires in the summer. United are looking to sell him in the ongoing transfer window. In 17 appearances this season, the Danish midfielder has scored four goals and registered three assists.

Finally, Casemiro is also one of the players that the Red Devils are looking to offload. The Brazilian joined United reportedly for €70.65 million in August 2022. However, Casemiro has arguably struggled to live up to the expectations at Old Trafford, given his big-money transfer fee.

The Red Devils hierarchy could sell Casemiro if a decent valuation is offered. Meanwhile, Casemiro is contracted at Old Trafford till June 2026.

"We don't have that possibility in January" - Ruben Amorim on Manchester United's January transfer plans

The Red Devils head coach has claimed that the club has a slim chance of signing players in the ongoing January transfer window. This comes after last summer's signings have failed to enhance the Red Devils' performance.

In a post-match conference after Manchester United's 0-2 Premier League loss to Newcastle United, Amorim said (via Fabrizio Romano):

"We don't have that possibility in January if we don't sell some players."

He added:

"You know the situation better than me. I can’t arrive and spend money immediately."

Manchester United spent £205.9 million on player signing last summer (via Sky Sports). Thus, it might be difficult for the new head coach to sign fresh players without offloading some players in the current squad.
