Manchester United-linked attacker Randal Kolo Muani could reportedly be allowed to leave Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a temporary move next January.
Kolo Muani, who left Eintracht Frankfurt to join PSG in a £80 million move in 2023, has fallen down the pecking order at his current team. The 25-year-old has started just two of his 10 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit this season, netting two goals so far.
Now, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, both PSG and Kolo Muani are open to securing a loan move to an interested club next January. A host of Premier League clubs have already approached the Parisians for a loan with an option to buy next summer.
Kolo Muani, who has attracted interest from Manchester United and Arsenal in the recent times, has a contract until June 2028 at PSG. He has bagged 11 goals and laid out six assists in 50 total games for PSG.
Prior to joining PSG, the Frenchman registered 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 total matches for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2022-23 campaign.
Paul Merson urges Manchester United to avoid signing former Brighton & Hove Albion forward
In his column for Sportskeeda, Arsenal icon Paul Merson claimed that Manchester United would be taking a gamble by roping in Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. He wrote:
"I was in Portugal last year and they speak very highly of Ruben Amorim. He's a good manager but what he's done there in Portugal, it's a three-team league at the end of the day. This will be a completely different challenge. Now they're talking of bringing Viktor Gyokeres in. This is what does my head in, honestly."
Stating that Gyokeres has yet to prove himself in a top league, he added:
"He was playing for Coventry City a while ago and no one wanted him. Now he goes to a lesser league, does well and suddenly you have to pay £40 million to £50 million extra for him! Imagine if he was still at Coventry and United wanted him. Everybody would be losing their minds."
Owing to Ruben Amorim's recent appointment as the Manchester United manager, Gyokeres has emerged as a Red Devils target. He has recorded 20 goals and four assists in 16 total games for Sporting this term.
Last season, the former Brighton & Hove Albion star helped Amorim lift his second Primeira Liga title. He found the back of the opposition net 43 times and registered 15 assists in 50 overall matches for his club.
