Manchester United want a new striker in January 225

According to a recent report by TEAMtalk (via Dailysports), Manchester United and Liverpool are in the race to sign Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. This comes after Ruben Amorim's takeover as the Red Devils' new head coach.

United have struggled to be clinical in front of goal in the 2024-24 campaign despite the club's efforts to improve the attack last summer.

As the Red Devils' designated number nine, Rasmus Hojlund has only netted two goals in 12 games across all competitions. On the other hand, Joshua Zirkzee has scored only one goal in 17 games.

This is one reason the Red Devils are reportedly looking for a striker in the upcoming transfer window. Marmoush, one of their targets, has had a brilliant start to the campaign for Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old has netted 14 goals and registered 10 assists in 16 games.

Marmoush’s impressive numbers in attack could be the reason why Manchester United are monitoring him. As regards his potential transfer fee, it is reported to be in the region of €60 million.

Marmoush's current contract with Frankfurt expires in June 2027. This would definitely give the German side decent bargaining power as Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also interested in signing Marmoush.

Despite Fulham's unwillingness to sell, the Red Devils are currently monitoring Antonee Robinson. This is according to a report by Football Insider (via Transfer News Live).

Robinson has been decent at left-back for Fulham in the Premier League this season, registering three assists in 11 games.

In a bid to bolster the left-back position, the Red Devils are currently exploring the option of signing Robinson. This particular move could be due to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia struggling to remain fit this season.

Manchester United might be looking to avoid a situation where they would have to improvise at left-back going forward, which explains their interest in Robinson.

As per the aforementioned report, the London outfit are also reluctant to let Robinson leave in the middle of the season. The 27-year-old is currently contracted at Fulham until June 2028, making his potential transfer expensive.
