Thomas Tuchel is reportedly in talks to become the next England manager amid interest from Manchester United. The German is without a job since parting ways with Bayern Munich at the end of the last season.

As per a tweet by journalist Christian Falk, Tuchel is in advanced talks with The FA to become the next England coach. The Three Lions are still looking for a replacement for Gareth Southgate who left the position following the EURO 2024 final loss (2-1) against Spain.

Lee Carsley was appointed as the interim manager but he has said the role is not going to be his permanently. He wants to go back to working with the U21 side. Carsley said (via 90min):

"My remit has been clear from the start. I am doing three camps, there are three games left and then, hopefully, I will be going back to the Under-21s. The remit was clear. I am comfortable and confident with that."

Tuchel was in talks with Manchester United in the summer but the Red Devils decided to stick with Erik the Hag. However, the Dutchman is under pressure once again and reports suggest the German is in the running to replace him.

Former player warns Manchester United about Thomas Tuchel

William Gallas has cast doubt over Thomas Tuchel replacing Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. He believes the former Chelsea manager will be unable to survive the pressure at Old Trafford. Gallas told Prime Casino:

"Could Thomas Tuchel deal with the pressure of being Manchester United manager? I don't think any manager can. Look at Erik ten Hag and his team losing 3-0 at home to Tottenham only a few weeks after losing 3-0 at home to Liverpool, looking at the team and their body language, it looks like they have lost their characters. Even though they drew against Aston Villa, the players are not happy at the moment under Ten Hag and that is showing."

However, the former Arsenal defender does believe that it is time for the Red Devils to sack Ten Hag. He added:

"It looks like the players have stopped fighting for the manager, but they should still be fighting for the club and the fans. I don't think they have a good connection to the manager and because of that you can tell what is going to happen in every game. They start off focused but when they concede they all drop off and it's not a good mentality. At the moment it looks like the players are just waiting for the manager to get sacked, they got a good result away to Aston Villa but it's still one point from two games having lost at home to Tottenham, it's not good enough."

Apart from Tuchel, the Red Devils have been linked with Gareth Southgate and Graham Potter.
