Manchester United are reportedly entering the race to sign Raphinha from Barcelona this summer. The Brazilian winger has also been linked with a move to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr, with the attacker failing to lock down a starting position at Camp Nou.
Now, Sport believe that the Red Devils want to bring the 27-year-old to Old Trafford, with the futures of Antony and Jadon Sancho uncertain (via GOAL). However, the Blaugrana will only consider selling Raphinha if an offer of about €60 million comes their way in the ongoing transfer window.
Antony, the left-footed option on the right wing at Manchester United, has been largely disappointing since joining the club, bagging 11 goals in 82 matches. However, their target, Raphinha, hasn't quite lit up Camp Nou since he moved to the Catalan side in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of €58 million.
The former Leeds United star has featured in 87 matches across competitions for Barcelona, bagging 20 goals and 25 assists. Given his poor return, the winger has lost his starting position on the right side to the emerging Lamine Yamal.
As a result, he will have to fight it out with Ferran Torres and others for minutes down the left flank next season with his current employers. Therefore, a move away might suit Raphinha, who has three years left on his contract.
However, a starting position at Manchester United isn't guaranteed either. He will have to compete with the likes of Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho, among others, for minutes on the right side.
Barcelona signing Dani Olmo could force Blaugrana to sell Raphinha to Manchester United - Reports
Barcelona announced the signing of Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig for a reported fee of €55 million. The Spain international is not only set to cause issues for Raphinha in terms of game time but could also decide the future of the Brazilian.
According to a report from Bild, the Blaugrana are unable to register Olmo for the upcoming La Liga season (via One Football). It is claimed that the Catalan side will have to sell a player before they register Olmo, who won Euro 2024 this summer.
This could further force Barcelona to sell Raphinha to Manchester United in the ongoing transfer window. Moreover, Olmo, who can operate on the left wing, is likely to be preferred ahead of Raphinha, following the former's good run of form.
At the European Championships, the 26-year-old scored three goals and assisted two in six appearances.
