Manchester United are reportedly prepared to fork out €90 million to sign RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda as Anthony Martial's potential replacement.
According to reports from Spain (via TEAMTalk), Erik ten Hag is ready to replace Martial with Openda. The Belgian frontman has been in fine form since joining the Bundesliga club from Lens this past summer for €46 million (£40 million).
Openda, 23, has bagged five goals and two assists in 11 games across competitions. He's also a regular for the Belgium national team, earning 12 caps and scoring two goals.
The Leipzig striker has admitted that he one day wants to reach Harry Kane's level. The English superstar was heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils before joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur this past summer. He said (via BuliNews):
"Harry Kane is one of the best players in the world. He's better than me. But that's what drives me: I want to be at his level one day."
Ten Hag is 'obsessed' with bringing the young forward to Manchester United as Martial's replacement. He's willing to spend €90 million (£78 million) to secure his signature.
The Red Devils spent big on Rasmus Hojlund this past summer, signing the Danish frontman from Atalanta for €75 million. However, Ten Hag appears to want him to be joined at Old Trafford by Openda with Martial's future in doubt.
The French striker has just eight months left on his contract. He's been displaced by Hojlund in Ten Hag's starting lineup. The 27-year-old has struggled with injury issues throughout his eight years at Manchester United.
Juventus are reportedly frontrunners in the race to sign Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho
SPORT reports that Serie A giants Juventus are the current favorites to sign Jadon Sancho whose Manchester United career looks to be coming to an end.
Sancho, 23, has been banished from the Red Devils' first team after falling out with Ten Hag. He has only made three appearances this season and a potential loan departure is mooted for January.
Juve are keeping tabs and could look to seal a loan move in the winter transfer window. Barcelona are also monitoring Sancho's situation but they are more inclined to swoop in the summer.
Sancho has been at United since 2021 when he joined the club from Borussia Dortmund for €85 million. He's struggled to impress during that time, managing just 12 goals and six assists in 82 games across competitions.
