Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is open to a temporary fix over the debate surrounding his future at Anfield, as per reports. This comes amidst rumors that he has been left fuming by the club hierarchy, regarding his contract situation.

Back in 2022, the Egyptian maestro signed a contract extension at the club for three years. Now, just over six months are left on his current deal.

With his future still uncertain and negotiations dragging on, Mohamed Salah is not pleased with the hierarchy at Anfield. According to a new report from The Athletic (via The Sun), the 32-year-old has a fix in mind: he would like to sign a 12-month contract extension.

This would essentially put an end to rumors around Salah's future and keep the focus on the pitch, as the Reds chase the Premier League title. They currently sit at the top of the table with 34 points, nine points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.

Much of the conversation around Salah's contract situation has been enhanced by the Egyptian legend himself. After leading the Reds to a 2-0 win over Manchester City at Anfield on December 1, he told Sky Sports (via GOAL):

"Honestly it's in my head. Until now this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool [at Anfield] so I was just going to enjoy it. The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen."

In late November, he revealed that the club were yet to formally offer him a new contract, telling the press (via Sky Sports):

"I'm probably more out than in... There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven't received anything yet about my future."

Liverpool will need to find a solution that benefits Salah and the club in due course, with the winter transfer window opening in January 2025.

Arne Slot refuses to divulge information about Mohamed Salah's Liverpool contract

Arne Slot has refused to share any details about the Reds' plans around Mohamed Salah's future. He spoke about the winger ahead of their 2-0 Champions League win over Real Madrid at Anfield on November 27, telling the press (via Liverpool.com):

"People told me about this, but I have said many times we don’t share this over here - at least I don't share this over here. The only thing I can say is if you look at my line-ups, Mo is more in than out, so that quote I can give you."

Mohamed Salah notably missed from the penalty spot against Real Madrid, failing to find the net as the Reds clinched an important win. However, he has remained instrumental to their cause this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 20 appearances.

He has played in every match this season, with the Reds nearly going unbeaten, aside from a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on September 14.
