Lionel Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo is reportedly hesitant about moving to Saudi Arabia this summer amid interest in the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star from Al-Hilal. She is unsure how her three sons will settle in the Middle East.
As per a report in L'Equipe, Antonela could play a crucial part in Messi's possible move to Al-Hilal. She was on a trip to Riyadh last week with the PSG star and is not sure if her three sons will do well in the Middle East.
Al-Hilal are determined to sign Messi this summer and have tabled a stunning €400 million per week offer. They are ready to blow all other clubs out of the race and get the Argetnien to reignite his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Barcelona and Inter Miami CF are also in the race to sign the Argentine, but the suspended PSG star is yet to make a decision on his future.
Lionel Messi must leave PSG claims, Jerome Rothem
Former PSG winger Jerome Rothen has insisted that Lionel Messi should be let go in the summer even though he has apologized for the trip to Saudi Arabia. He believes that the Argentine still does not care about the Ligue 1 club and said on RMC Sports:
"He made a mistake, he recognizes it. So already that means that PSG was right to sanction him because it is a professional fault. I'm not a manager of the club but my opinion is simple. I throw the ball back to Leo Messi: he's been there for two years, is his investment on the pitch sufficient and excusable? The answer is no. For me, PSG don't does not need Messi to be champion of France. Knowing that he will not be extended and that he will leave, that the adventure ends like this."
Rothen added:
"It's sad but apologies don't change anything. Has he apologized many times about his behavior on the pitch? About his investment on and off? Not speaking French or not doing an interview with a French media? Not to greet the supporters? Whether he makes his apology video, so much the better. But I have a little bitter taste: he says he apologizes to his teammates or the managers, not to the fans or about the image he sent. I don't understand why he said he couldn't postpone this trip. He finds an excuse.... he apologizes but finds an excuse."
PSG suspended Lionel Messi for two weeks after his unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia.
