Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly initiated contact with Manchester United over the signing of Marcus Rashford in the January transfer window. This is as per a report from TEAMtalk, which claims that PSG boss Luis Enrique is unhappy with their current attacking options, including striker Goncalo Ramos.
The Portugal international has managed to make one Ligue 1 appearance and is currently sidelined with an ankle injury. With Kylian Mbappe having departed in the summer, the Parisians are yet to replace the superstar French forward.
They've now seemingly marked the aforementioned England international as one of their options, with Randal Kolo Muani also linked with a move away this winter. Rashford has blown hot and cold in recent seasons and is currently sitting on five goals and three assists in 19 appearances across competitions this campaign.
However, there seems to be a major issue, with new Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim seemingly wishing to keep his player at the club. This report states that Rashford and young striker Rasmus Hojlund will act as the pillars of attack under his guidance.
Additionally, it is also said that the 27-year-old forward himself is excited to play under the new head coach. Rashford found the net in Amorim's first game in charge of the Red Devils against Ipswich Town on Sunday (November 24), which ended 1-1.
He came up through the Manchester United academy and has made 421 senior appearances across competitions, bagging 136 goals and 63 assists. The attacker has won the Europa League once and the FA Cup twice, among other honors at Old Trafford.
Manchester United wish to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger on loan - Reports
Manchester United are reportedly interested in bringing PSG winger Xavi Simons on a season-long loan to Old Trafford. The news comes from Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, who also say that the Netherlands international is not looking to move to the Premier League right now (via One Football).
Rather, it is believed that the 21-year-old wide player, who can operate as an attacking midfielder, wants to secure a short spell with Barcelona. Of course, a move to the Catalan side may be more tempting as well, given they are top of the La Liga standings.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are looking to fight their way back from 12th place in the English top-flight standings. Simons is currently on loan at RB Leipzig till the end of the season.
So far this campaign, he has made 11 appearances across competitions for the German club, bagging three goals and two assists.
