Enzo Maresca's Chelsea are leading the race to sign Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo if the Englishman leaves the Red Devils, as per the Daily Mail. The Red Devils want the Englishman to sign a contract extension but Mainoo reportedly isn't convinced about staying at Old Trafford.
Kobbie Mainoo is an academy product of Manchester United and has been a part of the club for a significant period. Mainoo made his senior team debut during the Red Devils' 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic in January 2023. Since then, he has played 52 matches for the first team, scoring five and assisting one goal across all competitions.
His contract with Ruben Amorim's side will expire in the summer of 2027. United are keen to tie the Englishman on a new deal despite more than two years remaining on his current contract.
However, as per the aforementioned report, the 19-year-old is not interested in the extension talks because he's uncertain about his future at Old Trafford.
Over the last 12 months, Mainoo has emerged as a top prospect and a transfer target for multiple top European clubs. The 19-year-old was also called up by Gareth Southgate ahead of the 2024 European Championships, where he made six appearances for England.
Due to his recent performances, Chelsea are interested in signing the English midfielder if he leaves Ruben Amorim's side. The Blues have invested in young players such as Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and more in recent years.
Manchester United and Tottenham leading the race to sign Ligue 1 star: Reports
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) attacker Randal Kolo Muani on a loan deal, as per The Athletic's David Ornstein.
The French attacker has been on United's transfer radar since the 2022-23 season when he bagged 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt.
Kolo Muani joined PSG from Frankfurt in September 2023 and since then, he has failed to become a regular starter in Luis Enrique's side. In 54 matches for Les Parisians, the French forward has scored 11 and assisted seven goals. As a result, PSG are considering offers from other clubs for Randal Kolo Muani.
Ruben Amorim's United are keen to sign the 26-year-old as the futures of Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee are uncertain at Old Trafford. Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham are also interested in securing his services on a loan deal.
In addition to the Premier League sides, Thiago Motta's Juventus are also reportedly eager to sign Kolo Muani.
