Fulham are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe in the summer transfer window. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have already rejected an initial bid from the Cottagers.
However, the west Londoners will reportedly come in with another offer for the England international. Romano clarified that the ball is still in the court of the north London outfit, who will decide the future of the player.
Providing an update on Smith Rowe's situation, he wrote on his X account (formerly Twitter):
"Fulham had initial bid rejected for Smith Rowe, now considering to return with a new proposal to Arsenal.
"He's considered one of the main targets with Fulham prepared to invest part of the budget they got from the Palhinha deal... but it depends on Arsenal."
Smith Rowe has struggled for game time at the Emirates, and moving away will certainly suit him. He currently has two years left on his deal, which could also prompt the Gunners to sell him this summer.
Last season, the 23-year-old made just 13 Premier League appearances, which saw him remain on the pitch for 346 minutes. The likes of Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz are all ahead of Smith Rowe for attacking midfield roles.
Although the youngster can operate down the left flank, Gabriel Martinelli and Trossard usually play the role. Since coming up the ranks with his current employers, Smith Rowe has made 115 appearances across competitions, bagging 18 goals and 13 assists.
Arsenal chasing attacking midfielder this summer, who is set to provide added competition to Emile Smith Rowe - Reports
Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace's attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze in the summer. According to Football Transfers, the Gunners' north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are ahead in the race for the Englishman's signature (via Football Fancast).
However, a move for the Eagles man won't be cheap and is expected to cost around £60 million. Should Eze arrive at the Emirates, he could play as a No. 10, with Martin Odegaard playing a deeper role. Mikel Arteta could also choose to use him in wide areas.
Eze is one of the brightest talents in the Premier League and is contracted with Crystal Palace till the summer of 2027. To date, the 26-year-old has made 124 appearances across competitions for the Eagles, bagging 26 goals and 17 assists.
