Paris-Saint Germain (PSG) are reportedly prepared to offer upwards of €100 million in their bid to sign Barcelona target Alexander Isak. The 25-year-old Sweden international's talent has continued to shine in recent seasons following his switch from Real Sociedad to Newcastle United.

This season, the Magpies striker has scored 12 goals and provided four assists in 19 games across the Premier League and Carabao Cup. His performances have piqued the interest of clubs like Barcelona, who have identified him as one of their main targets in the near future.

With their current striker Robert Lewandowski now 36 years old, the time has come to search for a long-term replacement. While the Polish marksman has been on top of his game this season, scoring 23 goals and providing two assists in just 24 games, the Catalan giants have to plan for the future.

Making a move for Isak will not be an easy task, as Newcastle, who signed him for over €70 million from Sociedad in 2022, will be looking to make a profit. This has not held La Blaugrana back, as they believe Isak would suit their style of play remarkably. However, their hopes of such a transfer could be scuppered by PSG, as per El Nacional.

The Parisians have been deeply impressed with Isak, and according to the report, head coach Luis Enrique is "obsessed". This has led the French club to begin preparations to submit a gigantic offer of over €100 million to sway Newcastle United.

Barcelona's well-documented financial struggles will make it difficult to match such a bid from PSG, raising questions about Isak's future.

PSG move for Barcelona playmaker amidst Catalan giants' failure to register player

PSG are working on a move for Barcelona playmaker Dani Olmo, with the Catalan giants struggling to permanently register the player. Olmo joined the club from RB Leipzig last summer but they were unable to register him properly, due to their ongoing financial difficulties.

However, Barca managed to agree to a temporary arrangement that saw them register the 26-year-old, who won Euro 2024 with Spain. That registration, however, was set to last until the end of the year, and so far, they have failed to re-register him for the rest of the season.

This could potentially lead to Dani Olmo leaving Barcelona in January as a free agent, and a number of clubs are monitoring this situation. According to SPORT (via Daily Mail), PSG have their sights set on the Spaniard, who has scored six goals and provided an assist in 15 appearances this season.

In the meantime, though, Barca are expected to take the case to court against LaLiga, as they look to hold onto their player for the final part of the season.
