Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt is reportedly keen on a move to Manchester United and will not entertain offers from other clubs. According to HITC, the Dutchman has made it a priority to move to Old Trafford.
The report further claims that the Red Devils are in constant communication with the player's representatives. However, they are yet to enter into negotiations with Bayern Munich for the player. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have also expressed an interest in signing him, according to German outlet Sport Bild.
Central defense was identified as a priority in the transfer window for Manchester United. They shipped 58 goals in the league last season while having to employ 14 different centre-back partnerships due to a slew of injuries.
They have already completed a move worth a reported €62 million for Leny Yoro. However, the Frenchman suffered a foot injury in the side's pre-season tour that is set to keep him out for three months.
With Raphael Varane's move to Serie A side Como confirmed, Erik ten Hag's side could do with another addition to the centre-back room. De Ligt remains an attractive option for this, having previously served under the manager at Ajax.
He made 30 appearances for Thomas Tuchel's side last season, bagging two goals and one assist. However, he fell down the pecking order, with the likes of Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano preferred over him.
Fulham continue pursuit of Manchester United star amidst interest from other clubs
Fulham have presented their third bid for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay. According to journalist Samuel Luckhurst, the Cottagers have submitted a deal worth £23 million to sign the Scotland international.
The bid is expected to be rejected as the Red Devils are hoping to receive offers in the range of £25-30 million for McTominay. He is also garnering interest from the likes of West Ham United, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
McTominay is out of contract next summer. While Manchester United do have an option to extend his stay by a further year, they may fail to receive bids in the same region as they are receiving now.
He made 43 appearances last season, scoring 10 times and getting three assists. Mason Mount's regular availability combined with the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo means the 27-year-old could lose playing time at Old Trafford, something he could receive more of at Fulham.
